Key Changes in the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (Regulation (EU) No 679/2016)
We are issuing an information circular on the new European Regulation 679/2016 on DATA PROTECTION, drawn up by our colleague Xavi Saula, to provide information on the most important changes introduced by the regulation governing the implementation of a series of measures to safeguard the rights of individuals in relation to the privacy of their data, and which calls for the appointment of an external figure to monitor compliance with this regulation, the DPO (Data Protection Officer), who would act both as an external consultant and as a guarantor of compliance with these regulations.
